Excedea supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Excedea promotes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through supporting our innovative client projects that are moving the whole world towards reaching the SDGs.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.” See more here. In business, sustainability refers to doing business in a way that positively impacts (or at minimum does not negatively impact) the environment, community, or society as a whole.

The businesses adopting SDGs can enjoy certain benefits – in addition to the improved reputation, image, and strategic position they can make a clear case for public investment and funding. European Union supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) contributing to the SDGs. So, large portions of public funding for businesses that is available through the EU’s Horizon Europe (previously Horizon 2020) program are dedicated to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Europe.

Excedea believes the Sustainability Goals are significant, and we are proud to prioritize clients that are developing vital and globally relevant innovations as well as adopting sustainable strategies. So far 45% of our projects have been Horizon Europe and Eureka projects supporting good health and well-being (SDG nr 3), the examples being our work with clients Revenio Group and Lipum (read about Lipum acquiring a 2.2. MEUR grant). The second most popular SDG among Excedea Horizon Europe or Eureka projects (28% of our projects) are “industry, innovation and infrastructure” (SDG nr 9), including clients Safeline (read about Safeline winning 300 KEUR worth of grants and getting acquired by a venture capital company) and Starcounter (read about Starcounter acquiring a 2.2 MEUR grant).

Some of our other remarkable clients include Valomotion (read about Valomotion winning 300 KEUR worth of grants (in Finnish)), whose projects support decent work and economic growth (SDG nr 8) and Saalasti (read about Saalasti growing international and acquiring public funding), who is innovating on the topic of affordable and clean energy                (SDG nr 7).

Excedea is a strong advocate of the UN SDGs and can help your company leverage a sustainable innovation and business strategy into public funds.
